If you think Compact Fluorescent Lamps are just too expensive...

PREPARE TO BE PLEA$ANTLY SURPRISED!

While it’s true that the initial purchase price of a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) is higher than the price of an incandescent light bulb producing roughly the same amount of light, there are four facts that you need to consider:

FACT #1: CFL PRICES HAVE DROPPED DRAMATICALLY in the past few years while technology has advanced making CFL’s the best choice for many of your lighting needs! When CFL’s were first introduced, many consumers found prices to be incredibly expensive… and they were right with prices as high as $25 for a single bulb! Light Bulbs Etc, Inc. has Special Introductory Pricing on a new line of CFL Spiral Bulbs PLUS CFL spiral and reflector bulb multi-packs with prices as low as $1.98 each!

FACT #2: CFL’s last up to 10 TIMES LONGER than their incandescent counterparts and will save you both time and money on burned-out replacements. The average life of our new spiral CFL line is 10,000 hours while specialty CFL’s average around 8,000 hours. Though the initial cost of a CFL is higher than an incandescent bulb, the fact is you’ll pay less for the CFL over its life PLUS think of all the time you’ll save not having to change burned-out bulbs!

FACT #3: CFL’s use, on average, about 75% LESS ELECTRICITY than their incandescent counterparts. For example, this 13 Watt CFL produces the same amount of light as a 60 Watt incandescent light bulb and is available in the soft-white color that incandescent bulbs produce. Our Energy Star qualified products are some of the most energy-efficient CFL’s available anywhere!

FACT #4: CFL’S will REDUCE YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL. It just makes sense that using less electricity will result in lower electric bills, but how do we learn just how much of a savings to expect? Light Bulbs Etc, Inc. offers an online Energy Audit where you simply fill in the blanks with the wattages, costs and average lives of both your current bulb and the new replacement CFL. It’s a great way to measure your potential savings!

Light Bulbs Etc, Inc. offers energy-saving CFL’s in several wattages, shapes and sizes. From spirals to floodlights, decorative bulbs to dimmable CFL’s, you’ll find an energy-efficient option for virtually all of your lighting needs. Take a moment to look through all of the CFL options we offer and take advantage of the savings available to you today! Click Here

There’s a BIG difference in these LITTLE bulbs!

In response to your requests, Light Bulbs, Etc. has GREATLY EXPANDED it’s selection of MR-16 Halogen Light Bulbs! Some of the issues we’ve addressed in the expansion include:

* Longer Life * Color of Light Emitted * Even Beam Spread *

* True Color Representation * Color Retention *

* Reduced Back Spill of Light *

Since there are many reasons for the difference in pricing and performance of MR-16 lamps, let’s look at some of these differences individually...

  • LAMP LIFE—Naturally, the average life of an MR-16 is a very important factor. Typically, an MR-16 averages between 2,000 and 10,000 hours of life though there are some specific models like the Ushio Ultraline Titan that has an average life of up to 18,000 hours.

  • COLOR OF LIGHT EMITTED—Most MR-16’s have a color temperature of between 2800K and 3200K which is higher than an incandescent source. As with lamp life, there are some models, such as the Ushio Whitestar, which have a color temperature range of 4200K through 6500K allowing for greater flexibility in appearance.

  • COLOR RENDERING INDEX (CRI)—The CRI or True Color Representation of MR-16’s ranges between 95 and 100. The color of light may change as the lamps age mostly because of the degradation of the reflector coating over time. If constant color is important to you, there are specialized lamps like the GE Constant Color or Ushio Ultraline lamp that maintain their original color over the life of the bulb.

  • BEAM ANGLE—This is a performance parameter that characterizes the beam appearance of a directional lamp. From a Narrow Spot to a Wide Flood beam pattern, beam angles range from 7 degrees to 60 degrees. The Ushio Eurostar features a wide selection of beam angles.

  • REDUCED BACK SPILL—Eliminates the spill of light from the back of the bulb. The Ushio Superline eliminates back spill while the Superline Reflekto also eliminates the back spill and is available in decorative colors.

To help choose the right lamp, we offer an online Guide to MR-16 Selection. To access the guide and to view all of the MR-16 family click here.

FOR SPRING we’re also offering a variety of landscape lamps including MR-16’s and PAR 36 Halogen lamps at special prices. Click here to view these special offerings and prices available to you through May, 2008.
