Where are you located?

We are located in Lenexa, Kansas, near Kansas City, Missouri in Northeastern Kansas. Come visit! It's beautiful!

Do you have a "brick and mortar" store?

Yes, we do! Come visit our showroom at 14831 W. 99th Street, Lenexa, KS 66215.

We are open Monday-Thursday from 8am-5pm CST.

Friday's from 8am-4pm CST.

Are you really a "family owned and operated" business or is that just marketing talk?

Yes, we sure are. Grandparents, Moms, Dads, siblings, grandchildren and even in-laws! Those that aren't related by blood or marriage are just considered part of the family. We've been in business for 30 years and being a family helped us grow to be the business we are today.  Most of our employees have been with us over ten years and some have been here since the beginning.

Why do you charge so much for shipping?

We know- we hear it all of the time. Our shipping cost is 8.90 per order, no matter how large or small. It seems like a lot when it's a very small bulb, but it's a pretty good deal when you buy 12 long fluorescent tubes. The shipping costs have a lot of variables. The costs include:

  • The cost of packaging. We must use very sturdy packaging to ship light bulbs all over the world. We try to use packaging materials that protect our bulbs in the shipping process but are also easily recyclable. We only use packing peanuts or plastic when absolutely necessary.
  • Shipping is just expensive. In order to make it as easy as possible for us to ship all over the world efficiently, we utilize a system that prices the packages on multiple shipping platforms to be as cost efficient as possible.

If you want to give us a call at 888-757-9591, we have more leeway on shipping charges. Our Customer Service Team is happy to help!

How do you ship so many light bulbs and have so little breakage?

Magic! Actually, no- but we do have the best packing people around! Lauren does most of our packaging and she is a rock star. Of course, bulbs do occasionally break- if you have a broken bulb in your order, just call us at 888-757-9591.

My neighbor/the internet/an email from my great uncle said that incandescent bulbs are illegal! How can you sell them?

We get this question all of the time. Short answer is this: No, they are not illegal. The long answer is this: The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 set maximum wattage requirements for the production of incandescent light bulbs to make them more efficient. This act effectively banned the manufacture and import of traditional incandescent light bulbs. However, there are exceptions, like rough service bulbs, outdoor and signage bulbs, and other less common types. Give us a call at 888-757-9591 or take a look at our selection here.

If you love the light of a traditional incandescent bulb and you haven't made the change because CFLs seem too blue, or LED light seems to harsh, we recommend that you revisit some newer technologies. LED and CFL bulbs are better than ever before and LED pricing has finally matched the consumer marketplace.

Do you really have to call the EPA if you break a CFL and pay someone thousands of dollars to come and mitigate the breakage?

If this were the case, our warehouse would have a permanent EPA office. :) The short answer is no. Here's a link to the proper disposal of a CFL light bulb.

Just who are you people anyway, and who do I call when I need something?

Glad you asked!
